One objective of ECC is to preserve and enhance the Buddhist heritage of Tai groups. ECC aims to significantly increase the anthropological understanding of the role of the monastery in the education of young boys but also in the cross-border exchanges that give rise to new dynamics of identity. For this we study the actual dynamics between local and trans-local traditions by combining the ethnography and the study of texts.
Another objective is to support the renovation and construction of buildings in some monasteries in order to welcome young novices who need to pursue their studies. For this ECC tries to find financial support from donors.
